Obverse

This design reflects how the area looked in 1713, with vibrant fall foliage coloring the hills and forests that surround the rivers. Inscriptions read SKARU RE, WEST VIRGINIA, 2024, and TUSCARORA.
Reverse
The reverse side of the 2024 Colorized NATB West Virginia 1 oz Silver Coin features the series shared design. At the center, youll see a left-profile portrait of an American bald eagles head, framed by an eight-pointed star with arrowheads placed between the points. The inscriptions include NATIVE AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL, 1 OUNCE, ONE DOLLAR, and 999 AG.
History
In the early 1700s, the Tuscarora people faced conflicts with European settlers, resulting in the Tuscarora War from 1711 to 1715. After this conflict, the Tuscarora moved north and became the Sixth Nation of the Iroquois Confederacy in 1722. Some members of the tribe settled around Martinsburg, West Virginia.
