Obverse

On the obverse, the 2024 EC8 Anguilla Regatta Gold Coin shows the emblem of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank. Found in the northeastern Caribbean, Anguilla is a small British Overseas Territory known for its beautiful beaches and peaceful lifestyle. Though the island is just 35 square miles, it is home to about 15,000 people who blend local culture with a growing tourism economy. Inscriptions here include EASTERN CARIBBEAN CENTRAL BANK, ECCB, 1 OZ .9999 GOLD, and TEN DOLLARS.

Reverse

The reverse side of the 2024 EC8 Regatta 1 oz Gold Coin highlights a calm scene of a sailboat drifting through Caribbean waters. Regattas gained popularity during the mid-1900s when island communities used them as ways to honor their maritime identity and bring people together following independence. Inscriptions here read ANGUILLA and 2024.

History

These gatherings have grown into cultural events that include music, food, and local customs. More than just races, regattas serve as celebrations that connect the Caribbean islands and help share their traditions with the world.
