History
The discovery of the Terracotta Army in 1974 by a group of farmers led by Yang Zhifa astounded the world. Buried around 210 BCE, the tomb comprises over 8,000 soldiers, 130 chariots, 520 horses, and 150 cavalry horses, as estimated in 2007. The entire necropolis is around 38 square miles big and contains 4 pits with sculptures.
