History

The Winged Victory statue, located atop the Mexican Independence Victory Column, was designed by Italian sculptor Enrico Rcn. The statue, unveiled in 1910 during Mexico’s centennial celebrations, is a powerful symbol of Mexicos fight for independence and national victory. The golden figure stands with wings outstretched, holding a laurel wreath in one hand.
