The Morgan Silver Dollar is celebrated as one of the most iconic designs in US silver dollar history. Introduced in 1878, these coins were minted each year until 1904, with a final issue in 1921. The US Mint revived the Morgan Dollar as a bullion coin in 2021 to mark the centennial of its last issue. Now, certified-perfect 2024 Morgan Dollar Silver Coins are available at Provident Metals.

Obverse
The obverse of the 2024 Morgan Dollar Coin features a left-profile bust of Lady Liberty. Designed by George T. Morgan, it shows Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap, coronet crown, and laurel wreath, with a ring of 13 stars around the bust. Inscriptions here read E PLURIBUS UNUM, LIBERTY, and 2024.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2024 Morgan Dollar Silver Coin displays the heraldic eagle of the United States, also designed by Morgan. This image shows an American bald eagle with widespread wings, clutching the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace. The inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, and ONE DOLLAR.
History
The Morgan Dollar replaced the Seated Liberty Dollar as the second silver dollar design to see extensive use in the United States. The first silver dollar, minted in 1804, was discontinued in 1806 due to hoarding. The Seated Liberty Dollar was produced from 1840 to 1873, followed by the Morgan Dollar. The final silver dollar series was the Peace Dollar, issued from 1921 to 1928 and again in 1934 and 1935. While the Seated Liberty Dollar was minted over a longer period, the Morgan Dollar had a higher mintage over its lifetime.
