Obverse
On the obverse of the 2024 Proof Australian Koala Silver Coin, youll find the first-generation portrait of King Charles III on Australian coinage. This left-profile image, designed by Dan Thorne, shows His Majesty without a crown. The inscriptions include CHARLES III, AUSTRALIA, and 8 DOLLARS.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2024 Proof Koala 5 oz Silver Coin features an image of a koala clinging to a tree trunk, surrounded by eucalyptus leaves. Koalas feed almost exclusively on eucalyptus leaves, which are tough to digest and toxic to most other animals. Their specialized digestive system allows them to safely consume these leaves by breaking down the toxins through a long cecum filled with bacteria that help digest the leaves. The inscriptions read KOALA, 2024, 5 OZ 9999 SILVER, and the P125 mint mark.
History
Koalas are fascinating creatures, known for their quiet and solitary lifestyle. They spend most of their timeup to 20 hours per daysleeping or resting in eucalyptus trees. This lifestyle helps them conserve energy, as their diet consists of eucalyptus leaves, which are fibrous, low in nutrients, and toxic to most animals. Koalas slow movements are balanced by their incredible climbing skills, which they use to move through the treetops, gripping branches with strong limbs and claws.

All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
