The Proof Gold Libertad Series gained annual-release status in 2004, bringing back the 1 oz and 1/2 oz gold coins while also adding three new fractional-ounce coins. The largest of these additions in 2004 was the 1/4 oz Proof Gold Libertad. Today, 2024 Proof Mexican Libertad 1/4 oz Gold Coins are available from Provident Metals.

Each 2024 Proof Mexican Libertad 1/4 oz Gold Coin available here features frosted design details with mirrored background fields. These coins are individually packaged in plastic flips. The highest mintage for the 1/4 oz Proof Gold Libertad was 3,920 coins in 2005, while the lowest mintage of just 250 coins was recorded in both 2014 and 2020.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2024 Proof Mexican Libertad Gold Coin showcases the modern Mexican coat of arms. This design includes a golden eagle perched on a prickly pear cactus, gripping a serpent with its talons and beak. This imagery is based on an ancient Aztec symbol from the 1524 Codex Mendoza. The inscription includes ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2024 Proof Libertad 1/4 oz Gold Coin features the image of Winged Victory. This design is inspired by the Winged Victory statue that tops the Mexican Independence Victory Column. Representing the Mexican Revolution, Winged Victory is depicted in a slight left-profile relief, holding a laurel wreath in one hand and broken chains in the other. Inscriptions include 1/4 ONZA, ORO PURO, 2024 LEY .999, and the mint mark.
History
The 1/4 oz Proof Mexican Gold Libertad was first introduced in 2004, marking the beginning of annual releases for this coin. That same year, the 1/10 oz and 1/20 oz gold coins were also added to the series. The 1/4 oz Proof Gold Libertad has been issued every year since then.

For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
