The American Silver Eagle series made its debut in 1986, with the San Francisco Mint playing a key role in producing both the Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) and Proof versions of the coin. Between 1986 and 1992, the San Francisco Mint was the exclusive producer of the Proof Silver Eagles, which bore the S mint mark. The San Francisco Mint resumed its annual production of these Proof coins in 2019, and now Provident Metals offers the 2024-S Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins.

Each 2024-S Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin available at Provident Metals is encased in a protective plastic capsule. The coins are housed in an official US Mint box with a themed outer shipper and come with a Certificate of Authenticity. The proof finish of these coins features frosted design elements that contrast beautifully with the deeply mirrored fields.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2024-S Proof American Eagle Silver Coin features the classic Walking Liberty design by Adolph A. Weinman. First created in 1916, it depicts Liberty in a full-length profile, striding toward the rising sun with her right hand extended and an oak and laurel branch in her left. The American flag drapes over her shoulders. Inscriptions here read LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, 2024, and Weinman’s AW signature mark.
Reverse
On the reverse, the 2024-S Proof Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin displays a contemporary design of the American bald eagle by Emily Damstra. This design, introduced in 2021, shows the eagle in a left-profile view, wings raised as it clutches an oak branch in its talons. The inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ONE DOLLAR, 1 OZ. FINE SILVER, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the S mint mark.
History
Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, the production of Proof Silver Eagles rotated among different US Mint facilities. From 1993 to 2000, the Philadelphia Mint took charge of production, followed by the West Point Mint from 2001 to 2018. Since 2019, the San Francisco Mint has been producing S-Proof Silver Eagles each year, complementing the ongoing W-Proof production at the West Point Mint.

All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
Provident is only able to ship to addresses in any of the 50 US states. This includes P.O. boxes and APO addresses.
