No coin has a history like the South African Krugerrand. The South African Gold Krugerrand was first struck in 1967 as the world’s first modern bullion gold coin. For the 50th anniversary, the South African Silver Krugerrand was issued in 2017. 2024 marks another year in this iconic series as they’ve been struck annually since their debut. The design of the South African Krugerrand has remained the same since the coin program debuted back in 1967. The obverse of these coins shows the left-profile relief effigy of Paul Kruger. The reverse shows the Springbok antelope, the national animal of the country.
In terms of silver coins, we have a 1 Troy oz coin available. These coins are made from .999 pure silver.
For gold coins, there are 5 sizes available – 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/10 oz, and a 1/50 oz coin as a proof. Individual coins arrive in protective plastic flips. For larger orders, you can also order the 1 oz coin in a tube of 10.
