Coin Highlights:
The 2025 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins offered here come in Mint State 70 condition, the highest grade assigned to coins with flawless surfaces and complete, original mint luster. The First Strike designation ensures these coins were received by PCGS for grading within 30 days of their release from the mint.
Obverse
On the obverse, the 2025 American Eagle Silver Coins feature Adolph A. Weinmans image of Lady Liberty, moving forward with confidence as she holds laurel and oak branches symbolizing peace and strength, all while draped in the American flag. The inscriptions include LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, Weinman’s AW signature mark, and 2025.
Reverse
The reverse side of the 2025 Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins shows the bald eagle design introduced in 2021. Here, the eagle is depicted in mid-flight, wings outstretched, as it swoops downward holding an oak branch in its talons. Inscriptions include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, 1 OZ FINE SILVER, and ONE DOLLAR.
History
When the original Walking Liberty design was first minted in 1916, it brought significant technical challenges for the U.S. Mint. Weinmans intricate design of Libertys flowing gown, along with the high-relief details, led to quick die wear, and some early coins showed areas of weakness in the strike. These complexities highlight the dedication and artistic ambition that went into Weinman’s iconic depiction of Liberty.
