Reverse

On the reverse side, you’ll find a depiction of the Genovese crime family members, framed by an Ace of Spades design. Originally known as the Morello crime family and later as the Luciano crime family, the Genovese family rose to power in the early 1890s within New York City’s Italian-American communities. History

The family later took its name from Vito Genovese, who assumed control in 1957 after an attempt was made on Frank Costellos life. Costello survived and retired, allowing Genovese to take charge. The Genovese family is known for its sophisticated structure and secrecy, earning the nickname “the Ivy League of organized crime.” Their strategy of using “front bosses” allowed them to keep the true leaders hidden from law enforcement.
