The Green Dragon Crescent Blade, or Qinglong Yanyuedao in Chinese, is one of the most famous weapons in martial arts tradition. Described in Romance of the Three Kingdoms as weighing 82 pounds, the polearm combined a crescent-shaped blade with a dragon motif, giving it a distinct and powerful look.
History
As the Han dynasty broke apart, Guan Yu became a trusted military leader serving Liu Bei, helping create the Shu Han kingdom as one of three powers competing for control. He was briefly separated from Liu Bei and served under Cao Cao, yet he stayed loyal, defeating two enemy generals before rejoining his brother. Captured and executed by Eastern Wu in 220 CE, Guan Yus legacy only grew after his death, making him a cultural and historic icon across China.
