Australian Brumbies are wild horses that trace their origins to domestic breeds brought to Australia in the late 1700s, shortly after Europeans began settling the continent. Some of these animals escaped or were set loose, and they eventually formed free-roaming herds. They came from many different bloodlines, including Thoroughbreds, Arabians, and workhorse breeds, creating a hardy mix that adapted to Australias rugged land. The 2025 Australian Brumby 1 oz Silver Coin is now available from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Every 2025 Australian Brumby 1 oz Silver Coin comes in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Single coins are kept in protective capsules, while groups of 20 arrive in rolls. Larger boxes of 100 coins hold five rolls in total.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2025 Australian Brumby Silver Coin displays a left-profile portrait of King Charles III. Designed by Dan Thorne in 2024, the image shows the King without a crown. Inscriptions include CHARLES III, AUSTRALIA, and 1 DOLLAR.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2025 Brumby 1 oz Silver Coin features two horses standing near one another. Todays Brumby herds show many differences in size, build, and color, reflecting their mixed background and the unique conditions found across Australia. Inscriptions read AUSTRALIAN BRUMBY, 2025, 1 OZ 9999 SILVER, and the P mint mark.
History
Through generations, these herds became well-suited to the environment. Qualities like resilience, balance, and the ability to survive on little food and water were passed along, helping the Brumbies thrive. Populations grew during the 19th and early 20th centuries, particularly around gold rush settlements where many horses were left behind.
