Kangaroos are well-known symbols of Australia, easily identifiable as part of the Macropodidae family, which also includes wallabies and wallaroos. With their strong hind legs, long balancing tails, and distinctive hopping, these animals thrive in a wide range of Australian environments, from open fields to rugged forests. Right now, 2025 Australian Kangaroo 1/4 oz Gold Coins are available at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
All of the 2025 Australian Kangaroo 1/4 oz Gold Coins offered here come with individual plastic capsules. Each coin is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and has a limited mintage from the Perth Mint.
Obverse
On the obverse of the 2025 Australian Kangaroo Gold Coins, youll find the first-generation portrait of King Charles III from the Perth Mint. His Majesty is depicted in left-profile relief without a crown on his head, designed by Dan Thorne. The inscriptions read CHARLES III, AUSTRALIA, and 25 DOLLARS.
Reverse
The reverse side of the 2025 Kangaroo 1/4 oz Gold Coin shows two kangaroos in their natural habitat, the Australian Outback. The design showcases the Red Kangaroo, perfectly adapted to the harsh environment. One kangaroo rests on its side in the sand, while another bounds gracefully over a dune in the background. Inscriptions here read KANGAROO, 2025, 1/4 OZ 9999 GOLD, and the P mint mark.
History
The bond between Aboriginal peoples and kangaroos has existed for thousands of years, with these animals playing a crucial role in traditional customs and storytelling. Many Dreamtime stories feature kangaroos as important characters, teaching lessons about the land and respect for nature. This deep cultural connection continues to shape modern Australian identity and conservation efforts.
