Introduced in 1987, the British Gold Britannia is one of the most enduring gold bullion coins in the market. The series features a modern version of Britannia, the symbol of Britain and its people, as envisioned by designer Philip Nathan. This series includes 1 oz gold coins as well as fractional-ounce options. The 2025 British Britannia 1/2 oz Gold Coins are currently available at Provident Metals.

The 2025 British Britannia 1/2 oz Gold Coins are available with protective plastic pouches for individual purchases and in sealed sheets of 20 coins for multiples, all in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Each coin includes four advanced security features on the reverse: a wavy background, a latent security element, micro-text around the design, and tincture lines on the Union Jack.
Obverse
On the obverse of the 2025 British Britannia Gold Coin, you will find the first-generation portrait of King Charles III, created by Martin Jennings in late 2022 to replace the portraits of Elizabeth II. This design first appeared on the 2023 Britannia Coins and features Charles III in a left-profile relief without a crown. The inscriptions read CHARLES III, D.G. REX. F.D., and 50 POUNDS.
Reverse
The reverse of 2025 Britannia 1/2 oz Gold Coins features Britannia, depicted standing on a coastal landscape with a trident and an olive branch, resting on the Union Jack shield. Britannia is also shown wearing a Corinthian helmet. Inscriptions here read BRITANNIA, 2025, 1/2 OZ, and 999.9 FINE GOLD.
History

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. Most Provident orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
Provident is only able to ship to addresses in any of the 50 US states. This includes P.O. boxes and APO addresses.
