Launched in 1987, the Gold Britannia has become an emblem of British culture worldwide. Its name comes from Britannia, a personification of the British Isles that dates back to Roman times. These 2025 British Britannia 1 oz Gold Coins are available in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Individual coins ship in plastic flips, while sets of 10 come in acrylic tubes. Bulk orders of 100 coins ship in boxes containing 10 tubes. These coins have four security elements on the reverse that include a wave texture pattern in the background, tincture lines, a latent security mark, and micro-text.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2025 British Britannia Gold Coins features the image of King Charles III. This portrait was crafted by Martin Jennings in 2022 and first appeared on Britannia coins in 2023. It marks the inaugural portrait of Charles III, showing him in a left-profile relief without a crown. The inscriptions include CHARLES III, D.G. REX. F.D., and 100 POUNDS.
Reverse
On the reverse, the 2025 Britannia 1 oz Gold Coins feature the iconic figure of Britannia. Created by Philip Nathan in 1987, this design shows Britannia standing in front-facing relief, wearing a Corinthian helmet. She holds a trident in her right hand, while her left hand rests on a Union Jack shield, clutching an olive branch. Inscriptions include BRITANNIA, 2025, 1 OZ, 999.9, and FINE GOLD.
History
Britannias imagery has shifted through the years to reflect Britains evolving values and international standing. The trident symbolizes naval power, the shield represents defense, and the helmet signifies wisdom. The lion at her feet embodies courage, while the olive branch she holds signifies peace.

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. All products are discreetly packaged and shipped with full insurance included.
Most Provident orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
