The left-facing image shows the King without a crown and marks the start of his official coinage. Inscriptions include CHARLES III, D.G. REX. F.D., and 25 POUNDS.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2025 Tudor Beasts Greyhound of Richmond 1/4 oz Gold Coin displays the heraldic greyhound, shown standing with a shield. The shield is decorated with the Three Lions, a symbol tied closely to English royalty. During the Tudor reign, such images reminded people of the familys royal heritage and could often be seen in palace decorations and written records. History
The Tudor Beasts Series celebrates the mythical and symbolic animals connected to the Tudor Dynasty. King Henry VIII had ten statues of these beasts made and placed on the Moat Bridge at Hampton Court Palace. Each statue represented the dynastys authority and family history, giving visitors a sense of the monarchys power.
