The Canadian Gold Maple Leaf is one of the most enduring bullion coins in the market. For 45 years, this series exclusively featured Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse. Following her passing in September 2022, the Royal Canadian Mint introduced King Charles IIIs effigy. The 2025 release marks the second time his portrait has been used. Right now, 2025 Canadian Maple Leaf 1/2 oz Gold Sheets are available from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Provident Metals offers 2025 Canadian Maple Leaf 1/2 oz Gold Sheets with 10 coins sealed in a protective sheet. This totals 5 Troy ounces of 24-karat gold, making it a valuable and attractive addition to any collection.
Obverse
On the obverse of the 2025 Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Coins is a portrait of King Charles III. This is only the second time his image has been used on the Gold Maple Leafs. Steven Rosati, the third Canadian artist to create a monarchs portrait for the Royal Canadian Mint, designed this left-profile bust. The inscriptions include CHARLES III, 20 DOLLARS, and 2025.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2025 Maple Leaf 1/2 oz Gold Coin features the iconic sugar maple leaf. This design has been a hallmark of the series since its debut in 1979 and continues to appear on all Gold Maple Leaf coins, as well as on silver, platinum, and palladium versions. Inscriptions include CANADA, 9999, FINE GOLD, and 1/2 OZ OR PUR.
History
The sugar maple leaf is more than a simple symbol; its a key part of Canadian culture and design. Its elegant form has inspired countless works of art and craftsmanship, making it a familiar and beloved motif in Canadian life. Whether in art, clothing, or other everyday items, the maple leaf is a constant reminder of Canadas natural beauty and cultural heritage.
