Since its introduction in 1979, the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf has stood as one of the most iconic gold coins in the world. Following the release of the South African Krugerrand, the Gold Maple Leaf was only the second modern gold bullion coin to be issued. In 1982, the Royal Canadian Mint improved the purity of the coin to .9999, making it the first-ever 24-karat gold coin program. Now, the 2025 Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Gold Coins in MintID cards are available at Provident Metals.

Highlights:

  • Arrives in a MintID CertiCard!
  • 46th year for the Gold Maple Leaf Series!
  • Comes with an NFC microchip that is AES-128 encrypted!
  • Contains 1 Troy oz of .9999 pure gold in BU condition.
  • Bears a face value of $50 (CAD) backed by the federal government of Canada.
  • The obverse depicts King Charles III.
  • On the reverse is the sugar maple leaf.
  • Laser-engraved maple leaf privy.
  • MintID app requires iOS 13.0 or later and Android 4.2 or later.

Each 2025 Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Gold Coin offered by Provident Metals is securely sealed inside a MintID CertiCard. These cards contain an NFC microchip with AES-128 encryption, providing a secure way to authenticate your coin.

Obverse

On the obverse of the 2025 Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Coin, you will find the portrait of King Charles III. This portrait, created by Canadian artist Steven Rosati in 2024, is the first of His Majesty to appear on Canadian coins. The left-profile relief shows the King without a crown.

Reverse

The reverse of 2025 Maple Leaf 1 oz Gold Coins features the sugar maple leaf, a design that has been on the Gold Maple Leaf since its debut in 1979. This iconic image, designed by Walter Ott, has remained a constant on the coin, even appearing on other precious metal variants in the series.

History

Authenticating your coin through the MintID app is quick and straightforward. Simply enable NFC scanning on your mobile device, open the app, and follow the instructions to confirm your coins authenticity. There is no need to enter any personal details to complete the process.
