The Royal Canadian Mints Maple Leaf bullion coins have become some of the most recognized around the world. First introduced in 1979 with gold, and later in 1988 with silver, these coins feature the enduring symbol of the sugar maple leaf. Special editions of these coins often come with unique privy marks, like this Year of the Snake design. Right now, 2025 Canadian Treasured Maple Leaf Lunar Snake Privy 1 oz Silver Coins are available at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Each 2025 Canadian Treasured Maple Leaf Lunar Snake Privy 1 oz Silver Coin comes with a protective capsule and is sealed in a Royal Canadian Mint assay card. The card confirms the coins authenticity, and on the reverse side, youll find the distinct Lunar Snake privy mark near the maple leaf design.
Obverse
The obverse side of the 2025 Canadian Treasured Maple Leaf Lunar Snake Privy Silver Coins features the first image of King Charles III on Canadian coinage. Created by Steven Rosati in 2024, this portrait depicts the King without a crown, following the long tradition of showing Canadian monarchs uncrowned. The inscriptions read CHARLES III, 5 DOLLARS, and 2025.
Reverse
On the reverse, the sugar maple leaf is displayed on all 2025 Treasured Maple Leaf Lunar Snake Privy 1 oz Silver Coins. Designed by Walter Ott in 1979, this maple leaf image is featured on all Maple Leaf bullion coins, with the Lunar Snake privy mark placed just below it. Inscriptions read CANADA, 9999, FINE SILVER, 1 OZ, and ARGENT PUR.
History
In Chinese astrology, the Year of the Snake symbolizes intelligence and mystery. Those born in Snake years, like 1989, 2001, and 2013, are thought to be wise, intuitive, and naturally good at navigating complex situations, although they may prefer to keep their personal thoughts private.
