Established in 1982 with gold bullion coins, the Chinese Panda Series stands out as one of the premier bullion coin collections in the world. This series includes five weights in gold and one in silver. In 2016, the Chinese Mint became the first significant sovereign mint to transition its bullion coins from traditional Troy ounces to grams. Now, 2025 Chinese Panda 1 Gram Gold Coins are available for you at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
These 2025 Chinese Panda 1 Gram Gold Coins come in plastic pouches and are available in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The 1 Gram Gold Panda was previously issued as the 1/20 oz Gold Panda and was the last weight introduced, debuting in 1983.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2025 Chinese Panda Gold Coins features the familiar image that has been a part of all Chinese Panda coins. This design captures the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests, a significant structure in the Temple of Heaven Complex, which has been represented in every iteration of the Chinese Panda since 1982.
Reverse
The reverse design of the 2025 Panda 1 Gram Gold Coins presents new artwork for this year. It shows an adult panda sitting in the foreground, using its paws to play with bamboo. A small cub can be seen interacting playfully with the adult, while another cub climbs on rocks behind them.
History
Though pandas are usually solitary animals, they do show some social behaviors during mating season. Male pandas will compete for the attention of females, utilizing loud vocalizations, scent marking, and sometimes engaging in physical confrontations. Successful males will often mate with multiple females during this limited timeframe. Female pandas nurture their cubs for 1 to 2 years, offering protection and care.
