The Miami people once lived across a wide area that includes parts of Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio. This land played an important role in their farming, travel, and day-to-day life. With villages near rivers, they made use of rich soil and key water routes. Provident Metals now offers the 2025 Colorized Native America the Beautiful Indiana 1 oz Silver Coin as part of this ongoing series.
Highlights:
Each of these 2025 Colorized Native America the Beautiful Indiana 1 oz Silver Coins ships in an acrylic capsule and is presented in a box with a Certificate of Authenticity. The obverse side includes colorized details that bring the river, trees, and surrounding landscape to life.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2025 Colorized Native America the Beautiful Indiana Silver Coin focuses on a river journey taken by the Miami people. The scene features two groups in canoes traveling the Wabash River. The word Waapaahsiiki, used by the Miami, refers to this stretch of the river near todays Vincennes, Indiana. Inscriptions read WAAPAAHSIIKI, MIAMI, INDIANA, and 2025.
Reverse
On the reverse side of the 2025 Colorized NATB Indiana 1 oz Silver Coin is the standard design from this series. A bald eagle’s head is placed at the center, surrounded by an eight-pointed star. Between each point of the star is an arrowhead, creating a border around the main design. Inscriptions include NATIVE AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL, 1 OUNCE, ONE DOLLAR, and 999 AG.
History
Known to the Miami as “Waapaahiki Siipiiwi,” the Wabash River connected different Miami communities and supported their farming, fishing, and cultural traditions. It served as both a source of food and a path for trade and travel, influencing many parts of daily life and being remembered in their stories and ceremonies.
