Each 2025 Colorized Native America the Beautiful Wisconsin 1 oz Silver Coin is housed in a protective plastic capsule. The coin is packaged in a presentation box and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. Colorization on the obverse brings the historical image of Pontiac to life in vivid tones.
Obverse
On the obverse of the 2025 Colorized Native America the Beautiful Wisconsin Silver Coin, Pontiac is shown holding a raised war hatchet. He was born around 1720 and is remembered for his leadership and his stand against European expansion. His efforts were key in resisting outside pressures and defending Native lands and rights. The inscriptions include PONTIAC, WISCONSIN, 2025, and ODAWA.
Reverse
The reverse design on the 2025 Colorized NATB Wisconsin 1 oz Silver Coin includes the bald eagle, a symbol of strength and unity. The eagles head sits at the center of an eight-pointed star. Surrounding the star are arrowhead designs placed between each point, forming a powerful pattern rich with cultural significance. The inscriptions read NATIVE AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL, MESA GRANDE SOVEREIGN NATION, 1 OUNCE, ONE DOLLAR, and 999 AG.
History
This release in the series focuses on Pontiac, an Odawa tribal leader. The Odawaan Algonquian-speaking Indigenous grouphave deep roots in the Great Lakes region, including parts of Wisconsin, Michigan, Ontario, and Ohio. Known for their trade and diplomatic skills, the Odawa built a reputation for connecting communities through commerce and alliances.
