Obverse
The obverse of the 2025 Falkland Islands King Penguin Silver Coin presents a left-profile portrait of King Charles III, designed by Glyn Davies. The uncrowned depiction follows the tradition seen on British, Commonwealth, and territorial coinage. The inscriptions read CHARLES III, D.G. REX., FALKLAND ISLANDS, 5, and 2025.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2025 King Penguin 1 oz Silver Coin, a small group of King Penguins is shown in an arctic setting. A fully grown adult stands in the foreground, while four more penguins, including a juvenile, are seen behind it. The Falkland Islands serve as an important breeding ground for this species, with the majority found at Volunteer Point on East Falkland. Inscriptions here read FALKLAND ISLANDS and KING PENGUIN.
History
