The Manx Noble coin was first introduced by the Isle of Man in the late 20th century, becoming a key part of the islands coin-making story. Starting out as a gold bullion coin, the series featured familiar symbols like the triskeliona group of three armored legs in motion. The front of each coin traditionally shows the current British monarch, a reflection of the islands close connection to the United Kingdom, even though it operates as a self-governing British Crown dependency. This tradition continues with new issues, including the one available now. Provident Metals is pleased to offer the 2025 Isle of Man Noble 1/2 Gram Gold Coin.
Highlights:
Each 2025 Isle of Man Noble 1/2 Gram Gold Coin comes in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and is housed in a plastic flip. This piece is the smallest gold coin in the Noble series and holds the distinction of being the smallest coin released overall in the series.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2025 Isle of Man Noble Gold Coin shows a left-facing image of King Charles III. Created by designer Glyn Davies, this is the first portrait series of the new monarch to appear on coins. In line with royal coinage tradition, the King is portrayed without a crown to present a simpler view of the sovereign.
Reverse
The reverse side of 2025 Noble 1/2 Gram Gold Coins includes a detailed image of a Viking longship. This ties back to the islands Norse heritage, which played a major role in its early development. Viking longships were used for many purposesfrom trade and settlement to naval campaignsand they allowed Norse communities to travel widely across Europe.
History
Modern Noble coins from the Isle of Man take inspiration from the English Nobles issued in the 14th century. Those coins were well-respected for their high purity and sea-themed imagery. In particular, the original Noble celebrated King Edward IIIs naval triumph at the Battle of Sluys in 1340, making a strong statement about Englands role on the seas.
