Obverse
The obverse of the 2025-P Proof Marine Corps Privy American Eagle Silver Coin displays Adolph A. Weinmans classic 1916 Walking Liberty design paired with the Marine Corps privy. The emblems eagle, globe, and anchorfirst adopted in 1868symbolize national defense, worldwide reach, and naval tradition, reflecting the Corps heritage and purpose. Inscriptions include LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, 2025, and the AW signature mark.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2025-P Proof Marine Corps Privy Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin features Emily Damstras bald eagle design, introduced in 2020. The eagle is shown in mid-flight, clutching an oak branch, and has appeared on the Silver Eagle series since 2021. Inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, ONE DOLLAR, 1 OZ FINE SILVER, and the P mint mark.
History
During the Korean War (1950-1953), Marines carried out one of historys most notable amphibious operations at Inchon in September 1950, disrupting enemy supply lines and shifting the course of the conflict. They also fought a difficult withdrawal from the Chosin Reservoir, demonstrating discipline and unity despite harsh winter conditions and overwhelming opposition.
