On the obverse of each coin, youll find Arnold Machins classic image of Queen Elizabeth II. This portrait, first introduced in 1965, was the second official image used during her reign and marks an important year for Canada as it adopted its new flag. Inscriptions on this side include ELIZABETH II, D.G. REGINA, and the individual face value.

Reverse

The reverse of each coin in this set showcases the classic maple leaf design by artist Marie-Elaine Cusson. The 1 oz coin is further distinguished by a red colorized maple leaf, capturing the signature color of Canadas flag. The reverse also includes the double date “1965-2025” in honor of the flags 60 years, with the 1 oz coin featuring a special 60th-anniversary maple leaf privy. The inscriptions on this side include CANADA, 9999, FINE SILVER, ARGENT PUR, and the individual weight.

History

When Canada established its own flag in 1965, it became a symbol of independence and unity for the country.
