Originally published in 1979 for Advanced D&D, the DMG provides valuable direction on designing worlds, building adventures, crafting magic items, and guiding campaigns. Unlike the Players Handbook, which focuses on character creation and rules for players, the DMG focuses on storytelling tools, encounter balance, and maintaining excitement throughout a campaign.
