Obverse

The obverse of the 2025-S Proof American Eagle Silver Coin features Adolph A. Weinmans Walking Liberty design from 1916. Liberty walks toward the rising sun, the American flag draped around her shoulders, her right arm reaching forward while she carries oak and laurel in her left arm. Inscriptions include LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, the AW signature mark, and 2025.

Reverse

The reverse of the 2025-S Proof Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin includes Emily Damstras 2021 artwork of the American bald eagle. Shown in flight with wings spread wide, the eagle carries a large oak branch in its talons, and the S mint mark appears to confirm it was made in San Francisco. Inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, ONE DOLLAR, 1 OZ FINE SILVER, and the S mint mark.

History

To celebrate the final San Francisco Proof Silver Eagle release, NGC has used a label featuring San Franciscos iconic trolleys inside the slab. These cable cars have served the city since the 1870s, climbing steep hills with a mechanical system that has remained largely unchanged, their bells and cables creating the sounds often associated with San Francisco.
