The Peace Silver Dollar made its first appearance in 1921 as a tribute to the end of World War I and the nations hope for lasting peace. Created by sculptor Anthony de Francisci, the design included a youthful portrait of Lady Liberty on the obverse, inspired by his wife Teresa, and a perched eagle with an olive branch on the reverse. In 2021, the Peace Dollar returned in a new form from the US Mint, offered as a silver coin for todays collectors and investors. Provident Metals now offers the 2025-S Proof Peace Dollar Silver Coin.
Highlights:
Every 2025-S Proof Peace Dollar Silver Coin is struck with frosted details and mirrored fields. Coins are individually encapsulated, packaged in a blue US Mint box, and sent in an outer Peace Dollar-themed sleeve with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2025-S Proof Peace Dollar Coin presents Lady Liberty in a left-profile design. Liberty is shown with soft, youthful features and a prominent crown of rays. The inscriptions include LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRVST, and 2025.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2025-S Proof Peace Dollar Silver Coin includes the bald eagle image. Here, the eagle is perched on a rocky surface while holding an olive branch in its talons, a symbol of peace. Its wings rest at its sides as it looks toward the sun rising in the distance. The inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, ONE DOLLAR, PEACE, and the S mint mark.
History
The San Francisco Mints role in Peace Dollar production was short but meaningful. Between 1922 and 1928, the facility struck several of the lower-mintage Peace Dollars, which remain especially appealing to collectors. The mint was also recognized for its consistent quality and advanced minting techniques that were developed in the early 20th century.
