History
The Morgan and Peace Dollar designs were introduced during very different moments in American history. The Morgan Dollar debuted in the late 1800s when silver discoveries in the western United States helped drive its production during a time of rapid national expansion. The Peace Dollar followed years later, first issued after World War I and continuing through the early 1930s as the nation faced major economic challenges.
