With a Specimen Proof 69 grade, these coins display full mint luster and only up to two small flaws. These tiny imperfections, like hairlines or contact marks, must be located outside the main design areas. The First Strike designation means the coin was received by PCGS for grading within 30 days after its release from the mint.

Obverse

The obverse of the 2025-W Burnished American Eagle Silver Coin showcases the Walking Liberty design created by Adolph A. Weinman in 1916. Liberty is shown in full length, walking toward the sunrise with the American flag around her shoulders. Her right hand reaches forward, while her left arm holds oak and laurel branches. The inscriptions include LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, 2025, and the AW signature mark.

Reverse

On the reverse of the 2025-W Burnished Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin, youll find a bold image of a bald eagle in flight. Designed by Emily Damstra, the eagle is shown swooping downward with its talons extended as it clutches a strong oak branch, wings flexed for landing. The inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ONE DOLLAR, 1 OZ FINE SILVER, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the W mint mark.

History

The bald eagle became a national symbol in 1782 when it was chosen for the Great Seal of the United States. Since then, its appeared on a wide variety of American coins in both realistic and symbolic styles, often with outstretched wings and holding arrows and olive branches to represent strength and peace.
