These coins include a Certificate of Authenticity and feature a US Army privy mark. The design shows a bald eagle with a shield, arrows, an olive branch, and the words UNITED STATES ARMY.
Obverse
On the obverse of the 2025-W Proof Army Privy American Eagle Silver Coin is Adolph A. Weinmans well-known Walking Liberty image. Introduced in 1916, this design depicts Liberty in left-profile walking toward the rising sun, wrapped in the American flag. The inscriptions read LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, 2025, the AW signature mark, and the US Army privy.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2025-W Proof Army Privy Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin presents a design by Emily Damstra showing a bald eagle in flight. The eagle is shown in left-profile relief with wings outstretched, grasping an oak branch in its talons. The inscriptions include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ONE DOLLAR, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and 1 OZ. FINE SILVER.
History
The Continental Congress chose to form the Continental Army due to rising conflict with British forces, especially after the events at Lexington and Concord. George Washington became the Armys first Commander-in-Chief. The original army was made up of riflemen from Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia, making it the first official American military force.
