The bald eagle, a symbol of America, has appeared on U.S. coinage for many years. This design by Emily Damstra continues the long tradition of featuring the eagle on American currency. The eagle has been depicted on numerous coins, including Robert Scots Heraldic Eagle, which first appeared on coins in 1798, symbolizing the countrys strength and peace.
