Obverse
On the obverse of the 2025-W Proof Army Privy American Eagle Silver Coin, youll find the familiar image of Walking Liberty. Designed by Adolph A. Weinman, Liberty is shown walking left with the sun rising in the background. A special U.S. Army emblem appears in the lower right, distinguishing this release from others. Inscriptions include LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, 2025, and the AW signature mark.
Reverse
The reverse of 2025-W Proof Army Privy Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins displays a bald eagle in flight, designed by Emily Damstra and introduced in 2020. The eagle is captured mid-descent, wings spread wide, and an oak branch in its talons. The design is presented in left-profile relief with the W mint mark included. Inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, ONE DOLLAR, 1 OZ. FINE SILVER, and the W mint mark.
History
The US Army emerged as a modern military power during World War I. Under the command of General John J. Pershing, the American Expeditionary Forces were instrumental in the final push on the Western Front. The war highlighted how quickly the Army could grow, expanding from 127,000 soldiers to over 4 million.
