Obverse
Adolph A. Weinmans Walking Liberty design is on the obverse of the 2025-W Proof Army Privy American Eagle Silver Coin. Liberty walks toward the left, the sun rising behind her. Reverse
The reverse of 2025-W Proof Army Privy Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins displays a modern interpretation of the bald eagle by artist Emily Damstra. In this version, the eagle is flying downward with outstretched wings, grasping an oak branch in its talonsa symbol of peace and readiness. Inscriptions here include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, ONE DOLLAR, 1 OZ. FINE SILVER, and the W mint mark.
History
The U.S. Army made significant progress during the War of 1812 despite early setbacks, including the burning of the capital. Victories like the Battle of New Orleans helped shape its legacy. In the postwar years, the army saw critical reforms, including the creation of the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1802, which began to produce career officers who played key roles in future military efforts.
