American Gold Eagles reach a special anniversary in 2026 as the program turns 40 years old. First introduced by the United States Mint in 1986, the Gold Eagle quickly became the nations leading gold bullion coin. The series has always offered four weight options: 1 oz and three smaller fractional sizes. Among those fractional choices, the 1/10 oz coin continues to be the favorite for many buyers. Each coin is minted in 22-karat gold with 91.67% gold content, combining trusted purity with added durability. Right now, 2026 American Eagle 1/10 oz Gold Coins in certified condition are available online from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
These 2026 American Eagle 1/10 oz Gold Coins are available as perfect MS70 examples, securely housed in plastic slabs. MS70 coins show complete mint luster with no visible imperfections. First Strike coins are those delivered to PCGS for grading within 30 days of the Mints initial release window.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2026 American Eagle Gold Coin displays Lady Liberty in the classic Saint-Gaudens style. This historic design, first created in 1907, shows Liberty moving forward with a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. The background includes the U.S. Capitol, sunlight rays, and a ring of stars framing the scene along the outer edge. The inscriptions here read LIBERTY and 2026.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2026 Eagle 1/10 oz Gold Coin is the updated bald eagle design that debuted in 2021. Crafted by Jennie Norris, it features a detailed left-profile close-up of the eagles head, giving the coin a strong and modern finish. Inscriptions here read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, IN GOD WE TRUST, 5 DOLLARS, and 1/10 OZ. FINE GOLD.
History
The 1/10 oz American Gold Eagle has earned its place as the most popular fractional Gold Eagle in the lineup. While fractional coins often come with higher premiums per ounce because of production and handling costs, this smaller size keeps the total purchase price more manageable. Many buyers choose it for steady stacking, gifting, or building a gold position with denominations that are easy to trade or split up later.
