Highlights:
These 2026 Armenian Noah’s Ark 1/4 oz Silver Coins are offered in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The 1/4 oz coin is the smallest silver release in the series and is packaged either in plastic flips or acrylic tubes of 20 coins.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2026 Armenian Noah’s Ark Silver Coin presents the national coat of arms of Armenia. Officially adopted in 1992, the design features an eagle and a lion positioned on either side of a shield. These animals have long been associated with Armenian heritage and earlier royal dynasties. The shield is arranged into four panels with symbolic imagery, and at its center is a small depiction of Noahs Ark resting atop Mount Ararat. The inscriptions here include REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA, 100 DRAM, 1/4 OZ AG 999, and 2026.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2026 Noah’s Ark 1/4 oz Silver Coin, the ark is shown floating across the waters surface. A dove holding an olive branch flies overhead, recalling the Genesis account. In the background, Mount Ararat rises beneath the sun, representing the arks final landing place in Armenian tradition. The name Noahs Ark appears in both Armenian and English.
History
Efforts to locate Noahs Ark have been documented since ancient times. Over the centuries, explorers have examined areas including the Durupnar formation, Mount Tendrek, and Mount Ararat in eastern Anatolia. Scientific reviews of these locations have concluded that the features are naturally occurring sedimentary formations.
