History
When European settlers first arrived in 1788, kangaroos quickly became a subject of fascination and challenge. Their unique hopping movement amazed newcomers, while their growing numbers sometimes clashed with early farming. Over time, the kangaroo became both a national emblem and a reminder of the complex balance between people and nature in Australia.
