Obverse
The obverse design of this 2026 Australian Lunar Horse Gold Coin features King Charles III in an uncrowned portrait facing left. Created by Dan Thorne, this marks the first appearance of the new monarch on the Lunar Series from Australia. The inscriptions include CHARLES III, AUSTRALIA, 1/2 OZ 9999 AU, and 50 DOLLARS.
Reverse
On the reverse side of 2026 Lunar Horse 1/2 oz Gold Coins, the coin displays a rearing horse with both front legs raised. The animal is shown in a natural setting of grassy fields and distant mountains, captured in a calm but active pose. The inscriptions read HORSE, 2026, the P mint mark, and the Chinese symbol for a horse.
