Perth Mints Lunar Series III continues to honor the Chinese Zodiac with fresh designs that highlight each of the twelve zodiac animals. This collection features distinct artwork on each release, with silver coins often showing two animals and gold coins focusing on just one. Provident Metals now offers the 2026 Australian Lunar Horse 10 oz Gold Coin for collectors and investors.
Highlights:
Each 2026 Australian Lunar Horse 10 oz Gold Coin comes in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and is individually housed in an acrylic capsule. The reverse design includes a security elementa tiny letter visible only with magnification.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2026 Australian Lunar Horse Gold Coin includes Perth Mints new effigy of King Charles III. This left-facing design was created by Dan Thorne and is the first to appear on Australian coins from the Perth Mint since the Kings accession. Notably, this portrait shows the monarch without a crown. The inscriptions here read CHARLES III, AUSTRALIA, 10 OZ 9999 AU, and 1,000 DOLLARS.
Reverse
On the reverse of 2026 Lunar Horse 10 oz Gold Coins, the coin showcases a detailed image of a horse in mid-rear, its hooves lifted above the ground. This design sets the animal in a mountainous grassland and reflects the horses strength and movement. Inscriptions here read HORSE, 2026, the P mint mark, and the Chinese emblem for the Horse.
History
The Fire Horse appears in the Chinese zodiac only once every sixty years and is considered a bold and energetic combination. It merges the Horse’s dynamic spirit with the intensity of the Fire element. This pairing is one of five elemental forms of the Horse, with the others being water, earth, metal, and wood.
