The obverse of the 2026 Australian Lunar Horse Silver Coin comes with an effigy of King Charles III. The portrait shows His Majesty in left-facing profile without a crown. This is the first appearance of King Charles III on an Australian coin, and the design was created by artist Dan Thorne. Inscriptions include CHARLES III, AUSTRALIA, 1 OZ 9999 AG, and 1 DOLLAR.

Reverse

On the reverse of the 2026 Lunar Horse 1 oz Silver Coin, The Perth Mint depicts a mare and her foal running across open grasslands with a distant mountain range behind them. The reverse artwork was created by Ing Ing Jong, who has contributed lunar designs to The Perth Mint since 2013. The inscriptions read 2026, HORSE, the Chinese emblem for the horse, and the P mint mark of the mint.
