The Perth Mints Australian Swan Series is a well-known annual release that features changing designs and limited mintages, making it appealing to both collectors and investors. First introduced in 2017, the series includes one-ounce coins struck in .9999 fine silver and gold, with each year showcasing a new image of the swan. The Perth Mint is recognized for its consistent quality, and this series reflects that standard. Today, 2026 Australian Swan 1 oz Silver Coins are available.
Highlights:
All 2026 Australian Swan 1 oz Silver Coins available here are offered in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and come in protective acrylic capsules. This release marks the 10th year of the series and features a special P10 mint mark to celebrate the milestone.
Obverse
On the obverse of 2026 Australian Swan Silver Coins, there is a portrait of King Charles III. The design, created by Dan Thorne, shows the King in left-profile without a crown. The inscriptions here include CHARLES III, AUSTRALIA, and 1 DOLLAR.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2026 Swan 1 oz Silver Coin shows a swan in flight above a lake. Black swans are found across much of Australia, living in coastal wetlands, rivers, lakes, and reservoirs. They are especially common in the southwestern region, where the Swan River and surrounding habitats support large populations. Inscriptions here include 2026, 1 OZ 9999, and AUSTRALIAN SILVER SWAN.
History
Swans hold a unique place in Australias early history. In 1697, Dutch explorer Willem de Vlamingh explored a river along the western coast and came across black swans, which surprised Europeans who believed all swans were white. This moment led to the naming of the Swan River, which flows through what is now the city of Perth.
