Since 1987, the Britannia bullion series has been a key part of The Royal Mints annual releases alongside the famous Gold Sovereign. The first Britannia coins were struck in gold in multiple sizes that same year. Now, you can order the 2026 British Britannia 1/10 oz Gold Coins online from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Each 2026 British Britannia 1/10 oz Gold Coin comes in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Single coins are packed in plastic flips, while multiples of 25 arrive in acrylic tubes. The reverse also includes four security features: a motion-style background, traditional tincture lines, a latent image, and micro-text engraving.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2026 British Britannia Gold Coins displays the portrait of King Charles III. Designed in 2022 by artist Martin Jennings, this marks the first official image of the King on British coins. It depicts the monarch facing left without a crown. The inscriptions include CHARLES III, DG REX FD, and 10 POUNDS.
Reverse
On the reverse side of the 2026 Britannia 1/10 oz Gold Coin, youll find Philip Nathans classic 1987 design. Britannia is shown standing firmly along the coastline. She carries a trident in her right hand and an olive branch in her left, with a Union Jack shield by her side and a Corinthian helmet on her head. The inscriptions read BRITANNIA, 2026, 110 OZ 999.9, and FINE GOLD.
History
Over time, Britannias image has been adapted for modern style while holding onto its symbols. Some 20th-century versions drew inspiration from Art Deco, introducing cleaner lines and geometric patterns. More recent updates have shifted her stance and expression for a fresher look while keeping the trident, shield, and helmet as central features.
