The Chinese Panda coin program is one of the most well-known annual bullion releases in the world. First issued in gold in 1982 and silver in 1983, this collection became famous for changing its reverse design every year. While the Temple of Heaven remains a constant on the obverse, each new release features a different Giant Panda design. Right now, 2026 Chinese Panda 15 Gram Gold Coins are available from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Each 2026 Chinese Panda 15 Gram Gold Coin ships in a protective plastic pouch and comes in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Prior to 2016, this weight was offered as the 1/2 oz Gold Panda, making the 15 gram version its modern counterpart.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2026 Chinese Panda Gold Coin depicts the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests, a highlight of the Temple of Heaven complex in Beijing. Built in 1420 under the Yongle Emperor, the structure is admired for its circular wooden design and layered blue roof assembled without the use of nails. The inscriptions here include the nation of issue and 2026.
Reverse
On the reverse of 2026 Panda 15 Gram Gold Coins, two Giant Pandas sit beside a peaceful pond. One panda gently lowers its head toward the other, suggesting a quiet moment of connection. Details of bamboo, rock, and water complete the natural scene and bring the artwork to life. Inscriptions here include 15 G, AU .999, and 200.
History
