History
Queen Elizabeth II was born on April 21, 1926, to Prince Albert, Duke of York, and Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon. As a young child, she lived outside the direct line of succession. However, in 1936, the abdication of King Edward VIII changed her future, placing her father on the throne and establishing Elizabeth as the next in line.
