History

Fender Musical Instruments Corporation was founded by Leo Fender in 1946 in Fullerton, California. The company quickly became known for its innovative electric guitar designs. In 1950, Fender released the Broadcaster, which was later renamed the Telecaster. This instrument became the first solid-body electric guitar to achieve major commercial success and played an important role in shaping modern popular music.
