On the obverse of 2026-W Burnished American Eagle Silver Coins is the historic Walking Liberty design by Adolph A. Weinman. Originally seen on the 1916 half dollar, the design features Liberty walking toward the horizon in left-profile relief. She is shown with the American flag draped around her, her right arm extended, and branches of oak and laurel in her left arm. The inscriptions here read LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, 1776-2026, and the AW signature mark.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2026-W Burnished Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin shows the bald eagle design created by Emily Damstra. Introduced in 2020, this modern image captures the eagle descending with its wings raised while carrying an oak branch. Inscriptions here read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ONE DOLLAR, 1 OZ. FINE SILVER, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the W mint mark.
History
The 2026 Burnished Silver Eagle highlights several key milestones. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the American Eagle Series, along with 20 years since the introduction of burnished Silver Eagles. The US Mint is also commemorating the nations 250th anniversary with special details, including a dual-date obverse and the America 250 Liberty Bell emblem used across its major collector coins.
