The year 2026 marks a major anniversary in American history, as the United States reaches 250 years since its founding on July 4, 1776. This semiquincentennial milestone will be recognized nationwide through commemorations and special releases. As part of the America250 program, the United States Mint is honoring the occasion with its annual Proof American Silver Eagle, featuring two meaningful design elements created specifically for this historic year. Coins with the Early Release label were submitted for grading within 30 days of their official release from the U.S. Mint.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2026-W Proof American Eagle Silver Coin showcases Adolph A. Weinmans classic Walking Liberty design. Liberty is shown walking toward the rising sun in left-profile relief, representing optimism and progress. She wears the American flag and reaches forward with her right hand while holding oak and laurel branches in her left. The inscriptions here include LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, 1776, 2026, and the AW signature mark.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2026-W Proof Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin is Emily Damstras modern bald eagle design. Introduced in 2021, it depicts the eagle descending with wings extended and an oak branch secured in its talons, symbolizing strength and stability. Inscriptions here include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, ONE DOLLAR, 1 OZ. FINE SILVER, and the W mint mark.
History
The Proof Silver Eagle series entered a new chapter in the 2020s with the introduction of a redesigned reverse in 2021. Featuring a more detailed image of the bald eagle, this update created the distinction between Type 1 and Type 2 coins. Since then, collector demand has remained steady amid changing mintages, market shifts, and allocation limits that have influenced availability throughout the decade.

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. All products are discreetly packaged and shipped with full insurance included.
Most Provident orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
