History

The Utah Goldback Note Series is inspired by the passage in 2011 of the Utah Legal Tender Act. The statewide act sought to establish acceptable forms of gold currency or notes in the state so that Utahans, in particular, could once again barter and transact with affordable gold. This opened the door to Utahans being able to possess a form of currency not subject to the whims of inflation to the extent that fiat currencies are subjected.

It is important to note that Utah Goldback Notes are a voluntary, local form of currency not broadly considered legal tender in the United States.
